Words We Never Speak
Kit’s life is moving along without a hitch. New job, new boyfriend, new best girlfriend for a confidant. Just when everything seems picture perfect, her blissful existence unravels one happy thread at a time. Strange dreams about an old love from high school disrupt her sleep, reminding her of an unresolved issue haunting her since the day she graduated. A greedy contractor is intent on destroying the old family home where she works, and Kit’s adored cousin who owns the home simply wants to wash her hands of it all.
When a new guy comes to town, she hopes their burgeoning relationship will take her mind off the chaos and restore order. Her wish is shattered when gruesome events occur unexpected, and she’s left fighting them off one nasty surprise after the other. Worse, she must choose between two men who vie for her attention. One of them desperately wants something from her. The other is not what he appears.
RC: Congratulations on your new release WORDS WE NEVER SPEAK! Thank you for taking the time to talk with me. What is one random fact about yourself that may surprise your readers?
SD: I actually did card readings for four hours during a nursing fair one time. The theme was “Nursing: Past, Present, Future.” I was told my readings were accurate. Some women even became tearful when I read their cards.
RC: Do you have a favorite TV show or movie?
SD: Favorite TV show is The Big Bang Theory. Favorite movie is Gone With The Wind.
RC: How long have you been writing?
SD: I didn’t start writing my first novel until 2011. I published it in 2012. I still have all my creative writing assignments from my English class I took in 1980. I have one of them posted on another author’s blog.
RC: Do you have an all-time favorite book, one that you can read over and over again?
SD: I love the Anne Of Green Gables series, and I’ve just finished the Asylum series by Madeleine Roux. My other all-time favorite is The Castle Of The Hidden Grotto series, an erotica collection by Louisa Burton. Unfortunately, her books are no longer in print.
RC: I love the title! Did you know the title before you started writing or is it something that came to you while writing, or when finished?
SD: This book was first published back in July 2015 under the title Destiny’s Last Chance. When Booktrope accepted it, I decided to do a revision of it and release it under a completely new title. This book is different in many ways than the first one, and I struggled to find a suitable title. Then I realized my husband had a saying that fit perfectly with the plot line. Hint: The title is quoted in one of the scenes in this book.
RC: Who is your favorite character in your new release?
SD: That’s extremely difficult to choose because I like all of the main characters equally well. One of my favorites is a character who will totally surprise you in the end.
RC: Do you have a favorite scene in this book? If so, can you share it and why it’s your favorite?
SD: There is a scene that is my favorite. I can only share it vaguely so it doesn’t become a spoiler of sorts. There is a scene between two of the characters. Their discussion is the one that starts to tie everything together.
RC: Where do you like to connect with your fans (Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, etc.)?
SD: I can connect with fans in all these venues. I’m also on Google Plus. I have a blog site where I would love to have visitors comment on my posts. The more interaction the better, I think.
RC: Thank you for stopping by my page! I cannot wait to read this 🙂
