Last night, or should I say early this morning, while I was up feeding my 6 week old and perusing Facebook, trying to dodge the GoT spoilers (unfortunately I was too curious and read them anyway), I was shocked to read about the recent shark attacks. My first thought was, #Jaws. One of my all time favorite books and movie series. Could this really be happening? Is this the same shark?
I am obsessed with sharks. That’s right, I said obsessed with sharks. For some reason I have not only been intrigued, obsessed, fascinated but ultimately afraid of sharks. This fear has even prevented me from entering the cold coastal waters of Maine. The fear is paralyzing and real but I also love it.
I know this doesn’t make any sense but the count down in my household has already begun and #sharkweek is only 20 days away. I cannot wait! This is my favorite time of summer, no lie. While I’m excited and anxious for #sharkweek and beach days I have to keep my fear in check. I have a two-year old who is now scared of everything, thank you Calliou (that’s a whole other conversation). I am striving to live the double life. The one where Mommy isn’t afraid so you shouldn’t be but I’m not going in the water and neither should you 🙂
